Aviva, the UK insurance people, have just published a list of some of their more interesting recent car claims and are asking customers to vote for their favourite. Here’s one:
‘A zebra collided with my car while I was at a Safari Park.”
And here’s another : ” The car was parked when a reindeer fell on the bonnet.”
But this has to be my favourite piece of cautious optimism:
” A frozen squirrel fell out of a tree and crashed through the windscreen on to the passenger seat.”
Thus, I would have expected this little rodent, casually atempting to warm up on a bitterly cold day, would have won hands down in Aviva’s poll. Strangely, no. At the time of writing, this had speedily overtaken even my gravity assisted squirrel:
” As I was driving round the bend, one of the doors flew open and a frozen kebab flew out, hitting and damaging a passing car.”
Now I can accept squirrels are clearly more funny than Zebras - a frozen Zebra coming through your windscreen having fallen out of a tree is clearly not very funny. But my question is this. Why is superfast food-with-attitude even funnier than the wobbly zebra, the roving reindeer, and my very own stiff squirrel?
Labels: Well, we're here... I think.
